From the Hugging Face model README
An open, Jev-shaped typed-decision model. One text state plus any number of typed questions
(choice / score / noul) goes in; a calibrated probability distribution per question comes
back from one forward pass. Nothing is generated, so the structured-output error rate is 0
by construction.
answerdotai/ModernBERT-base (149,754,243 params, fully fine-tuned)[MASK] marker pooling +
2-layer decision head + learned per-decision temperature + abstain head (wired, untrained)| Benchmark | VEDA-v11 | Reference |
|---|---|---|
| Internal cal, deduped (4,407 scored) | 84.5% acc / Brier 0.170 (ep0) | — |
| Train cal-Brier (Kaggle) | 0.088 | v9 baseline 0.155 |
| JudgeBench (620 pairs) | 47.4% / Brier 0.62 | chance 50% |
| RewardBench (2,985 pairs) | 52.1% / Brier 0.59 | chance 50% |
| SST-2 | ~49% (chance) | Jev 95.7% |
Reading these honestly: the model learned its training distribution (EAGLE/TITAN phrasing) well, including good in-family calibration — but does not generalize to external preference judgments or novel templates, where it falls back to a first-option prior. See Limitations.

Packing format (state once + [MASK] per option) is implemented in veda/pack.py in the repo above.
