Introduction
DHCP server is downloaded from
https://www.dhcpserver.de/cms/download/
It supports only Windows.
Note: The DHCP server listens on port 67, supporting both TCP and UDP.
We have to change the firewall to accept incoming connections from port 67, both for TCP and UDP.
We can use wireshark to capture the traffic to see the IP address of the client for the DHCP ACK message.
Also note the IP address of the network interface on Windows has to be statically
assigned, e.g., 192.168.1.2. The DHCP sever allocates IP addresses starting
from 192.168.1.3 ( as long as it does not include 192.168.1.2).
