RuthonField/scene-seg-llama-3-2-3b-instruct-fold_A
scene-seg-llama-3-2-3b-instruct-fold_A is a machine learning model from RuthonField. Use it for the machine learning task on the model card, and read the license before you ship it in a product. It is set up for transformers. The card lists the license as apache-2.0.

From the Hugging Face model README
Status: E0 debug / pilot — metrics are not reportable.
LoRA adapter from the Pilot 0 smoke run (E0_smoke). Trained on fold_A (debug split: Excel + Aus guter Familie → eval Effi Briest). This artifact validates the HF Jobs finetuning pipeline only; it is not a paper-comparable baseline.
German literary scene-border detection: given a target sentence and local context, predict whether the sentence starts a new scene (BORDER) or continues the current scene (NOBORDER).
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Run phase | pilot_0_e0_smoke |
| Data scope | stss_test_2_pilot (debug) |
| Train rows | 684 (166 BORDER / 518 NOBORDER) |
| Eval text | Effi Briest (5,906 sentences, natural ~3% border rate) |
| Target format | CoT-List (family L) |
| LoRA | r=16, α=16, 1 epoch, LR 2e-4 |
completion_only_loss | true |
Training data and config: RuthonField/scene-seg-sft (fold_A).
Uploaded metrics file: metrics_llama-3-2-3b-instruct_fold_A.json.
Headline metric: scenarios.none.tol_3.macro_f1 (tolerant F1 at ±3 sentences, no post-processing).
| Scenario | Path | E0 result |
|---|---|---|
| Raw (headline) | scenarios.none.tol_3.macro_f1 | 0.0 |
| Cluster merge | scenarios.cluster_merge.tol_3.macro_f1 | 0.0 |
| Min scene len 3 | scenarios.min_scene_len_3.tol_3.macro_f1 | 0.0 |
All scenarios scored 0.0 (model predicted no borders on eval). Expected for a 684-example, 1-epoch pilot — do not cite these numbers in papers or comparisons.
For paper-comparable results, use the E1 anchor run (train_full → stss_test_2) instead.
Requires the 4-bit base model plus this LoRA adapter.
