Jkatdare/gemma-3-4b-it-tulumix-30k
gemma-3-4b-it-tulumix-30k is a image-text-to-text model from Jkatdare. Use it for the image-text-to-text task on the model card, and read the license before you ship it in a product. It is set up for transformers. The card lists the license as gemma.

From the Hugging Face model README
A supervised fine-tune of google/gemma-3-4b-it on a 30,000-conversation stratified sample of allenai/tulu-3-sft-mixture, trained with QLoRA and merged back into full bf16 weights.
This run was designed to test whether mixing math chain-of-thought and instruction-constraint data into the fine-tuning set preserves the capabilities that generic conversational SFT erodes.
| Portion | Rows | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| Math chain-of-thought | 10,000 | open_math_2_gsm8k, numinamath_tir, personas-math-grade |
| Instruction constraints | 8,000 | personahub_ifdata |
| General conversation | 10,000 | wildchat, no_robots, oasst1 |
| Code | 2,000 | evol_codealpaca |
Conversations longer than 2,048 tokens were dropped.
| Benchmark | google/gemma-3-4b-it | finetome-12k | finetome-30k | this model |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ARC-Challenge (acc_norm, 0-shot) | 44.7 | 44.4 | 50.3 | 49.3 |
| MMLU (acc, 0-shot) | 53.2 | 54.0 | 53.2 | 54.8 |
| GSM8K (exact match, strict, 5-shot CoT) | 76.3 | 60.5 | 60.3 | 65.7 |
| IFEval (prompt-level strict) | 75.4 | 63.4 | 61.9 | 66.5 |
| IFEval (instruction-level strict) | 83.0 | 74.1 | 72.3 | 76.5 |
All models evaluated with lm-evaluation-harness 0.4.13, bf16, chat template applied
(--apply_chat_template --fewshot_as_multiturn), on a single RTX 5090. Because these are 0-shot
chat-template runs, absolute numbers are not comparable to Google's published figures; only the
relative comparison between these four models is meaningful.
Honest read: this model is the strongest of my three fine-tunes, beating the FineTome runs on
math, instruction-following and MMLU. Against the base model it gains ~4.6 points on ARC-Challenge
and ~1.6 on MMLU, but still loses ~10.6 points on GSM8K and ~9 on IFEval. Mixing in targeted math and
constraint data recovered roughly a third of the math regression that generic SFT causes, but did not
eliminate it. If you need maximum math or instruction-following accuracy, use
google/gemma-3-4b-it instead.
