Instantly convert any text on your clipboard to speech with a simple keyboard shortcut. This repository provides a one-line installer that sets up everything you need to use the high-quality, lightweight KittenTTS model for on-demand text-to-speech.

The script creates a self-contained environment with a GUI player that allows you to pause, resume, open in media player without saving once fully generated, and save the generated audio.

Prerequisites

• A Debian-based Linux distribution (e.g., Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, Pop!_OS).
• A GNOME-based desktop environment is recommended for the automatic keyboard shortcut creation. The script will still work on other desktops, but you will need to set up the shortcut manually.
• An active internet connection to download the required packages.

Installation

Open a terminal and run the following command. This will download and execute the installer script.
