From the Hugging Face model README
A LoRA adapter fine-tuned from Gemma 3 270M IT for context-grounded, schema-constrained decisions. It scores the allowed choices for a requested field and returns the selected value with probabilities for each choice.
This repository contains the adapter weights, tokenizer, training metadata, and evaluation results. It does not contain the Gemma base-model weights. Access to the base model requires accepting its terms on Hugging Face.
Use the adapter for bounded decisions similar to those in its evaluation data: provide a context, a field name, a description of the decision, and the allowed enum or boolean values. The model selects one of those values. Probabilities are normalized across the supplied choices.
The model does not generate explanations or open-ended responses. It is a task-specific decision component, not a general-purpose assistant, arithmetic model, or substitute for review by a person.
Install PyTorch, Transformers, PEFT, and Accelerate. Choose a PyTorch build compatible with your hardware. Authenticate with Hugging Face and accept the Gemma terms if your account has not already done so.
The following self-contained example loads this adapter from Hugging Face and scores a boolean decision. Replace
your-account/your-repository
with this repository's model ID.

For enum fields, set
type
to
enum
and provide a
choices
list of scalar strings or numbers. Optional
choice_descriptions
can give each value additional meaning. Boolean fields use
false
and
true
. The trained prompt limit is 2,048 tokens; longer prompts are rejected rather than truncated. The model scores the next-token codes for the choices instead of generating a free-form answer.
The adapter was fine-tuned on 2,676 labeled decisions and evaluated on 324 held-out decisions. Examples provide context, a flat decision schema, and a target label. The target is kept out of the rendered prompt. The evaluation split uses six source families not present in the 34 training families.
Training used one epoch, LoRA rank 16, learning rate 0.00005, batch size 2, gradient accumulation 4, and an effective batch size of 8. There were 335 optimizer steps. The adapter has 3,796,992 trainable parameters out of 271,895,168 base-model parameters. The recorded training runtime was 22 minutes, 4 seconds.
The saved run used PyTorch 2.14.0+cu132, Transformers 5.17.0, PEFT 0.21.0, and Accelerate 1.15.0. The training host had an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with 6 GB VRAM.
| Group | Correct | Accuracy | Mean NLL | Mean Brier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| All decisions | 143 / 324 | 44.1% | 1.111 | 0.650 |
| Enum | 82 / 210 | 39.0% | 1.338 | 0.731 |
| Boolean | 61 / 114 | 53.5% | 0.694 | 0.501 |
These results describe one held-out split. Accuracy is limited; review decisions before relying on them. The probabilities are normalized only across the choices supplied for a field and were not temperature-calibrated. If the correct value is absent from the provided choices, the model must still choose one of the available values.
A single held-out evaluation is not evidence of reliable performance across other domains. The adapter may be wrong even when its top choice has a high probability. Validate it on representative data and keep human review for consequential decisions.
This repository contains an adapter, not the base Gemma weights. Access and use of the base model are subject to the terms on the Gemma 3 270M IT model page. No separate license is declared for this adapter.
